Visiting CIMC

Via Interstate 93 (Driving from north or south of Boston)
1. From the north or the south follow, I-93 into Boston.
2. Take Exit 26 and follow to Storrow Drive.
3. After travelling through an underpass, take the left lane exit following the sign to Government Center/Kendall Square.
4. Turn right at the light at the end of the exit ramp and cross the Charles River via the Longfellow Bridge.
5. Continue on this road (Broadway) for approximately eight (8) traffic lights to the Prospect Street intersection. (Watch for Store 24 and Broadway Gas.)
6. CIMC is one block past the Prospect Street intersection at the corner of Broadway and Amory Street on the right.

Via Route 2 (Driving from north or west of Boston)
1. Follow Route 2 across Route 128/I-95 -- Route 2 is a four-lane, divided highway at this point -- to Alewife Parkway. (To park and take public transportation at this point, see our directions when travelling By Subway (Via the Red Line).
2. Follow Alewife south (this is Route 2 and 16 at this point) until it becomes Fresh Pond Parkway.
3. Follow Fresh Pond Parkway (this is still Route 2 and 16) until it becomes Storrow Drive.
4. Exit Storrow Drive at the Central Square/Mass Pike exit.
5. At the second light (watch for the Guest Quarters Suite Hotel), turn left and cross over the Charles River onto River Street.
6. Continue on River Street for approximately 3/4 mile until it intersects with Massachusetts Avenue.
7. Cross Massachusetts Avenue (River Street becomes Prospect Street).
8. Turn left at the third traffic light onto Broadway. (Watch for Store 24, Broadway Gas.)
9. CIMC is one block past the Prospect/Broadway intersection at the corner of Broadway and Amory Street on the right.

Via Massachusetts Turnpike/Interstate 90 (Driving from west of Boston)
1. Follow Massachusetts Turnpike/Interstate 90 east to Exit 18, Cambridge.
2. Bear right after the toll booth and follow signs toward Cambridge.
3. Pass the Guest Quarters Suite Hotel (on the right) and cross over the Charles River onto River Street.
4. Continue on River Street for approximately 3/4 mile until it intersects with Massachusetts Avenue.
5. Cross Massachusetts Avenue (River Street becomes Prospect Street).
6. Turn left at the third traffic light onto Broadway. (Watch for Store 24, Broadway Gas.)
7. CIMC is one block past the Prospect/Broadway intersection at the corner of Broadway and Amory Street on the right.

Via the Red Line (From South or Northwest of Boston)
1. From the south, take the Red Line towards Alewife. From the northwest, take the Red Line towards either Ashmont or Braintree. (Either train will suffice.)
2. Get off at the Central Square stop.
3. Walk north on Prospect Street three blocks (two traffic lights) past Carberry's (on the right) and Whole Foods (on the left) to the intersection of Broadway Street. (Watch for Store 24 and Broadway Gas.)
4. Turn left onto Broadway.
5. CIMC is one block past the Prospect/Broadway intersection at the corner of Broadway and Amory Street on the right.
   
   Walking time from the subway to CIMC (331 Broadway) is approximately ten minutes.

Via the Blue Line (From Northeast of Boston)
1. Take the Blue line (Inbound) to Government Center and change to the Green Line (Inbound).
2. Take the Green Line one stop to Park Street and change to the Red Line (towards Alewife).
3. Take the Red Line to the Central Square stop.
4. Walk north on Prospect Street three blocks (two traffic lights) past Carberry's (on the right) and Whole Foods (on the left) to the intersection of Broadway Street. (Watch for Store 24 and Broadway Gas.)
5. Turn left onto Broadway.

1. Take the Orange line to Downtown Crossing and change to the Red Line (towards Alewife).

4. Turn left onto Broadway.

Parking is available in our small parking lot, which can be entered from Amory Street. One parking space is reserved for people with disabilities.

If you have a Cambridge parking sticker, we ask that you park on a nearby street so that other visitors will be able to use the limited lot space. However, both residents and nonresidents of Cambridge may park on Broadway.

Additional parking is availabe to the public on Prospect Street across from Carberry's (74-76 Prospect Street.) It is free of charge after 6:00 pm weekdays and and all day on weekends.

On Wednesday evenings and weekends, if the CIMC lot is full, we have permission to park a maximum of five cars in the lot next door at Cambridge Health Associates (335 Broadway). The required parking passes are available from the retreat or workshop manager on weekends or from the greeter on Wednesday evenings. Our neighbors are generously allowing us to use their lot under these conditions and we thank you for your cooperation.
