“Little Buddhas” Group This group is an informal opportunity for parents and small children to explore a family practice. Through singing, storytelling and movement we will learn how to spend time together mindfully. All children must be accompanied by an adult who will be responsible for supervising that child at all times. Children of all ages welcome, but this group is geared to ages 3-9.
Cooking for Retreats If you are interested in volunteering for retreat cooking at CIMC, whether you can only boil water or have cooked at retreats for years, please come to one or both of the following workshops.
Evening for LGBT Practioners Maddy Klyne will lead a sitting meditation and a dharma discussion for people who are lesbian, gay, bisexual, or transgender. Juice and cookies will follow.
Gratitude Gathering On this day of thanksgiving, we will share readings and personal reflections on gratitude and the blessings in our lives. The gathering will include a period of sitting meditation and taking refuge in the Buddha, Dharma and Sangha. Please feel free to bring a reading. Light refreshments will follow.
New Year's Eve at CIMC On this last evening of the year, please join the community in periods of sitting, walking and chanting. There will also be a period for sharing readings or reflections. Light refreshments will be served after midnight. You are welcome to attend all or any part of the evening.
Bereavement Ceremony This ceremony is a simple remembrance of our loved ones who have died, both recently and further in the past. If you wish, you may bring photographs of your deceased loved ones to place on the center table (for the duration of the ceremony).
